Robin Hood closing a mystery

Robin Hood, the popular bar and music venue located at East Main Street and North Lincoln, closed its doors this summer.

Robin Hood, the popular bar and music venue located at East Main Street and North Lincoln, closed its doors this summer.

The sign for the building contains a leasing number for those who are interested in purchasing the building.

The reasons for the Robin Hood closing are still not clear, but Kent Safety Director Bill Lillich said the bar wasn’t closed for citations.

“There were no health or safety violations involved. As far as we know, it was a business decision,” Lillich said.

“They were investigated for underage drinking last spring, but that was the last I’d heard of that. I don’t think that was an issue.”

Tom Euclide, associate vice president for facility planning and operations, said no one has looked into buying it.

“The university didn’t purchase it, so we currently have no future plans for the property,” he said.

The property still has its liquor license, and it must be renewed by October.

Owner Scott Imhoff was unable to be reached for comment.
