Cleveland Metro Bar turns favorite cocktails into tasty frozen treats
September 1, 2010
It is impossible to walk by Cleveland Metro Bar + Kitchen without turning your head.
One of the most popular features of the bar is the alcoholic milkshakes.
“They are really popular and people even come up with their own,” said General Manager Jordan Welker.
The most popular is the Nutella, which includes Vanilla ice cream, Nutella, Frangelico Hazelnut Liqueur and hazelnuts.
The Irish Car Bomb, another big hit, includes Bailey’s Irish Cream, Jameson Irish Whiskey, coffee ice cream and malt.
Milkshakes, of which the bar offers 21 types, are $8, fairly large and a great way to freeze your favorite drink.
Happy hour at the bar brings in hundreds of people every night.
“The happy hour is very popular,” Welker said. “The menu offers something for everyone. We have over 50 selections of beer and wine bottles and appetizers are half off.”
The bar gives off a low-key vibe with friendly service.
“I loved the happy hour prices, and even though it was busy, the service was great,” said Venita Loe, Kent State alumna. “The atmosphere is nice. I love the large windows. You get a feeling of openness.”
New features added this winter highlight the experience. They include: a patio that seats 100 people, a full bar, a lounge area with cushioned chairs and five 50-inch flat screen televisions that can easily be viewed from anywhere in the bar.
