41st annual Black Squirrel Festival kicks off Parents & Families Weekend

The 41st annual Black Squirrel Festival took place on Friday. The festival honors the University’s unofficial mascot, the black squirrel. The Flash Activities Board kicked off Parents and Families Weekend with the festival. Some activities at the event included live music from school groups such as Vocal Intensity Acapella, food trucks, henna tattooing and a photo booth. Information tables from student organizations, campus resources and vendors were present at the event. Special Black Squirrel Festival T-shirts were handed out only to students by presenting their Student ID while supplies lasted. Also during the festival, the 2023 Homecoming Court was announced. TV2’s Michael Neenan talked to some students at the event and has all the details.
