Michael Deshawn Lollar, the suspected driver of a Kent homicide supect’s getaway vehicle, was arrested in Akron Wednesday. 

The homicide that left 35-year-old Cheretta Frierson deceased occurred Nov. 21, and police arrested Dawan Wilson, the homicide suspect, in December. Wilson was found in Texas and then transported by U.S. Marshals to the Portage County Jail the week of Jan. 8th. 

Lollar, a 37 year old from Akron, is now also held in Portage County Jail with no bond. 

“[Lollar] was physically arrested in Akron,” Kent Police administrative lieutenant Michael Lewis said. “I think he may have been staying with family in the city of Akron. I believe there was a time where he lived out west, just like the shooting suspect, Mr. Wilson.” 

The Kent Police Department worked with Akron Police and the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force to make Lollar’s arrest on the charge of complicity to aggravated murder, Lewis said. 

The search for suspects was started when Kent Police discovered the crime in November. 

A baby was found crying in the basement where Frierson and four bullet remnants were found, and two children were also in the residence. 

According to the police report, the victim was confirmed to be pregnant at the time, and one of the children in the residence said “daddy shot” her mother. 

Wilson was a passenger in a black 4-door after the shooting death, and Kent Police investigators identified Lollar as the driver at the time of the incident, according to a Kent Police Department press release. 

Lollar was arraigned on Thursday and was set for a preliminary hearing Jan. 26 at 8:30 a.m. Wilson is scheduled for his next court appearance Feb. 27, where he is expected to appear for jury trial.
