FIRST: Einstein Bros. Bagels
Located in the Student Center, Einstein Bros. Bagels is a great place for students to get their pick-me-ups for the school day. Einstein was rated number one for Best of Kent for on-campus food for their signature bagels, coffee, sandwiches and smoothies.
“I like to get the smoothies and frappuccinos,” said Kate Duckham, a sophomore human development and family studies major, who visits Einstein’s a minimum of once per week.
“I love the staff. They’re always super nice,” Duckham said.
“Seeing the students graduate, become young adults and graduate and go up for the rest of their lives,” Diane Johnson, a senior manager in the Hub in the Student Center, said the best part of her job is her interactions with the students and watching them grow. “Their insight, their willingness to learn, their outlook on the rest of their lives.”
SECOND: Rosie’s Diner and Market
Located in the Tri-Towers Rotunda, Rosie’s Diner and Market is a great spot for students looking for a late-night snack. Rosie’s received the second spot for Best of Kent’s best on-campus food.
Eva Clements, a sophomore theatre design major, said she visits Rosie’s the majority of the week. “I can customize it to however I’d like to eat it instead of just having to get what they have and how they have it.”
“Originally when I was a freshman, there’s sort of like, ‘Oh, cool.’ like I can get stuff like this on campus,” Marybeth Herman, a senior hospitality and event management student, said.
“I feel like it’s pretty similar to like, in a way just diner-like fast food, so if you’re having a craving for something just quick and simple instead of going all the way out to McDonald’s,” Herman said.
THIRD: Tahini
Number three for Best of Kent’s top food places on campus is Tahini. Located in the lower level of the student center, Tahini serves students Mediterranean dishes.
“Like, four or five times a week. I like that the meal exchange options vary,” Porter Sloane, a sophomore biology major, said he eats at Tahini several times throughout the week.
“There’s a lot of variety in them and you can kind of pick what you want to eat that day and change it up,” Sloane said.
“The owners are super friendly. They always wave, just they’re super nice,” Matthew Campbell, a Kent State alumnus, said.
