SERVICE DOGS SIDEBAR

Service animals are divided into three different categories. 

ESA: Emotional support animal dedicated to one person for emotional support. Can live anywhere, but cannot go in public.

 Therapy Animals: Animals that are trained to be in groups of people, serve in hospitals or during stress relieving events on campus. Therapy animals cannot live anywhere, and can only be in public with special permission.

 Service Dogs: Can live anywhere and can be in public. They’re classified as medical equipment in the eyes of the law.  Dogs and miniature ponies are the only animals allowed to be service animals in public.
