On March 28, international students at Kent State will have the opportunity to explore all New York has to offer — from national monuments to some of the best cuisine.

During the three day trip, students will follow a tentative schedule of events including sight-seeing adventures. Some of these destinations will include a visit to the top of the Empire State Building, touring the Ground Zero Memorial and a walk through Central Park, said trip coordinator for the Office of Global Education, Angelia Zielke.

“We are expecting around 30 to 40 students to attend, and are eager to see students excited about meeting new classmates,”  Zielke said

Students can register online through the Office of Global Education website to purchase tickets. The total cost of the trip for students assessed by the international student activity fee is $200. Students not assessed will be required to pay additional fees, Zielke said.

“The total costs include bus transportation, hotel accommodations, daily breakfast and a 3-day tour bus ticket around the city,” Zielke said.

The deadline for registration is March 1 or until completely full, Zielke said.

“The purpose of this trip is to help get our international students on campus more engaged with each other,” Zielke said. “I hope students attending will enjoy this experience and share in some amazing memories with new people.”
