FlashLine Maintenance Taking Longer than Planned

Kent State University’s FlashLine and DegreeWorks has resolved all issues late afternoon Sept. 14, after 24 hours of being shut down due to a scheduled maintenance, disabling services since Sunday, Sept. 13, night.

“Last night we experienced a hardware failure in the servers that provide FlashLine and Banner,” Vice President for Information Services Ed Mahon said.

The maintenance went on longer than anticipated. According to Kent State TechHelp’s Twitter, a vendor issue caused a continued interruption to FlashLine.

Services that may be reached through FlashLine were available through direct links, such as the Kent State homepage, Gmail, Google Docs, Outlook Web Express, Blackboard Learn, Empower, ALEKS, tuition payments and the online IT Support Center, according to the Kent State website.

Michael, a representative from the TechHelp desk who wanted to withhold his last name, said that it was due to scheduled maintenance.

Students that experienced registration issues during the outing can contact 330-672-HELP or visit https://support.kent.edu.
