Kent to host International Festival this weekend

This weekend, the city of Kent will be bringing the rest of the world to its streets through the Kent International Festival.

Sponsored by Kent State University, PARTA, Hometown Bank and Northeast Ohio Medical University, the festival will be held this Saturday from noon to 7 p.m. on N. Water Street and Hometown Bank Plaza.

The festival will be home to different local vendors and sources of live entertainment, including: Premier Crepes, Barefeet Dance Tribe, Art of Naser Madi and Wholly Frijoles Mexican Street Food.

Informational booths of organizations will also be present, and visitors can obtain a passport during the Passport Excursion from noon to 5 p.m.

For kids, activities such as face painting will be provided by Kent Girl Scouts. For older visitors, the Kent Jaycees will be hosting the International Beer Garden.
