Fashion Store moves to new location downtown

The Fashion School Store officially moved from Acorn Alley to East Erie St. earlier this spring.

As downtown Kent is constantly growing, FSSTORE moved around the corner to a new development. The new location is more convenient and attracts more customers.

FSSTORE manager Cindy Cianflocco said the new location was a larger space and better location.

“It’s better for parking in front of the building and it’s close to the fashion school,” Cianflocco said. “Anytime you do a move, things don’t go as planned but they turned out great.”

Students in the fashion building can take the Esplanade to get directly to the store and customers now have more places to park. Students helped move the FSSTORE to its new location, and some students received extra credit for helping.

“I go to FSSTORE at least once a week throughout the school year, I love seeing the products and I purchase a lot of things there,” said Olivia Nichol, a senior fashion design major. “It’s awesome because some of the products display items made through our tech lab, which produces a lot of fashion technology.”

Nichol said she is excited for all of the new upcoming students to visit the new store. Students and staff write a personal tag about the products they develop. Each tag is unique with the picture of the designer on it.  The store offers a variety of hip clothing for women. They also sell items with the “Kent Fashion School” logo.

“The majority of the product is made by fashion students or faculty, we do subsidize and balance the inventory with some market goods so that the flow of merchandise will always be new,” said Cianflocco.
