Protestors in Ukraine shouted “Glory to Ukraine” Tuesday night as they lit tents on fire after the riot police strike against their protesting camp in the center of Kiev. Nine people have died and nearly 200 have been injured — the deadliest violence since protest started nearly three months ago.

With Syria’s civil war in full swing, the Obama administration is struggling to find a new strategy to stop it right as peace talks are failing. Tuesday, the Syrian government is gaining strength and al-Qaida-affiliated militants are pushing rebels back. U.S. team member David Wise won the gold medal in the Olympic debut of half pipe skiing Tuesday. The 23 year old scored a 92 on his first run even though the half pipe wasn’t fully equipped for skiing because it was clogged by wet, soggy rain and snow all night.
