Kent State School of Nursing hosts helicopter landing

The College of Nursing is bringing in a Life Flight helicopter from MetroHealth Medical Center to land on the oval lawn space of the new Esplanade extension located between Haymaker Parkway and the arch near Main and Willow streets 1 p.m. on Tuesday.

Metro Life Flight, the first air medical program in the area, will land one of its helicopters at Kent State to give nursing students a chance to learn about air ambulances.

Kent State’s College of Nursing and the MetroHealth System have collaborated to offer clinical experiences aboard Metro Life Flight to Kent State graduate nursing students in the acute care nurse practitioner concentration, starting this fall.

Members of the Kent State community, general public and media are welcome to witness the helicopter landing.
