An apple on the desk is nice, but a glass award and a cash prize is nicer.

The Division of Research and Sponsored Programs and the University Research Council is seeking nominees for the 2012 Outstanding Research and Scholarship Award.

Any member of the Kent State community can nominate a faculty member who they believe has excelled in their field.

Students, faculty, staff, emeriti and alumni are encouraged to submit written nominations to www.research.kent.edu by Sunday, Feb. 12 at 11:59 P.M. The nomination must include a description of the research and/or scholarly achievements of the nominee.

The winners of the award will be selected based on the quality of their research and scholarship and its impact on society.

Award winners will be announced on March 15. Winners will receive a glass award and $1500.

Questions about the nomination process can be answered by Jim Maxwell by email at [email protected] or by phone at 330-672-0731.
