Kent State students have voted and the tallies are in, Seniors Brady Ruffer and Ivy Lumpkin have been crowned the 2011 Homecoming King and Queen.

Senior Integrated Social Studies major, Brady Ruffer, felt honored to be on homecoming court, but he admits that he felt nervous in the moments leading up to his crowning moment.

“I really wasn’t nervous until up to that point, when we were standing on the field and I thought, ‘Ohh there are a lot of people here.’”

Brady says that winning homecoming king was a complete shock and that he was grateful to just be on court with so many other accomplished KSU students.

Senior Applied Communications major, Ivy Lumpkin, is excited to be representing Kent State as their homecoming queen and she hopes to send a positive message to other students.

Both Ivy and Brady hope to inspire more students to work hard because the end result could be a crown.
