Michael Pryce has been an Ohio resident his entire life, besides absences for military service and schooling. Prior to his high school graduation, Pryce enlisted in the United States Navy and was formally honorably discharged in September 1971.
In 1968, Pryce entered Kent State planning a career in radio and television broadcasting before transferring to the University of Akron in 1970. He graduated Magna Cum Laude in Natural Science in 1973. Four years later he graduated with the degree of Doctor of Medicine from the Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest University in North Carolina. During his career, Pryce was appointed to two Presidential Roundtables under Presidents Reagan and Bush.
Pryce was a Republican until December 2009 when his political party voted unanimously to cut doctors’ Medicare reimbursements by nearly 50 percent, driving many doctors out of practice. In turn, Pryce became a political Independent.
Pryce and his wife Jo Ellen have lived in Hudson for the past 27 years working at his practice, Stow Kent Orthopedics, Inc. in Kent, OH.
Higher Education
-Pryce could not be reached for comment on higher education.
Economic recovery
-Seeks meaningful tax elimination on business and industry by changing the overall tax structure to a consumption tax, a tax on spending on goods and services.
-Pryce said confidence in American business is greatly diminished because of reckless spending, so he plans to propose a Constitutional Amendment to change these practices.
-Pryce doesn’t believe jobs can be brought to Ohio until workers compensation and health care costs are addressed.
Health care
-Pryce presents a universal health care plan, privately run, returning the control to physicians.
-Would like to see the health care system return to its 1970 levels of cost with full and complete care, no denials, no co-pays and no deductibles.
-His plan is to charge $100 a month per person for 300 million Americans
