INTRO:
Both candidates running for Ohio governor have just 19 days to sway voters who haven’t made their decision.
Republican candidate John Kasich and Lt. Gov. candidate Mary Taylor visited the Victory Center located in the Canal Place in Akron Tuesday.
Dozens of supporters gathered to hear what their plans are for the upcoming weeks.

A little over two thousand of those calls made from the victory center in Akron were made by Shamir Brice, a senior at Archbishop Hoban High School.
Brice said he has fun volunteering and making those calls to rally supporters for the Republican candidate for Ohio Governor John Kasich and his running mate Mary Taylor.
SOT-Brice
I BELIEVE THAT THEY CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE BY CUTTING BUSINESS TAXES, BUT CUTTING SMALL BUSINESS TAXES. MAKING SURE OHIO HAS AN ENVIRONMENT TO CREATE JOBS.
Kasich and Taylor arrived at the Victory Center in front Brice and dozens of supporters Tuesday afternoon.
With just weeks until the election, Kasich and Taylor focused on their plans for a more efficient and effective government.
SOT-TAYLOR
COMMON SENSE IN THE WAY THAT WE FUNCTION AND OPERATE GOVERNMENT – MAKE IT MORE EFFICIENT MAKE IT MORE EFFECTIVE MAKE IT A GOVERNMENT THAT OHIOANS SAY THIS IS WHAT WE EXPECT.
During the rally, they also made sure their supporters knew this election wasn’t just about them.
SOT-KASICH
THIS IS NOT A 2 MAN BAND HERE – THIS IS ABOUT ALL OF IS. THIS IS A MISSION AND IT’S ABOUT RESTORING OUR LEGACY.
Kasich stressed the importance of his plan to keep more money in taxpayers pockets and lowering taxes for Ohio.
SOT-KASICH
THAT WE ARE STRONGER AS A PEOPLE WHEN WE HAVE MORE MONEY IN OUR POCKETS THAN THE GOVERNMENT HAS IN ITS POCKETS.
While Kasich was inside, supporters for Democratic candidate Ted Strickland gathered outside opposing Kasich’s ideas.
However, that didn’t stop Kasich from letting his supporters inside know that he isn’t happy with where Ohio is now and has big plans for change.
SOT-KASICH
SOMEHOW WE’VE LOST OUR WAY IN THIS STATE AND WERE GOING TO FIX IT.

Critique:
-I used a camera from ESL and it was terrible. The focus didn’t work well which made a lot of my shots unfocused.
-Some video was choppy – tripod didn’t move smoothly.
-There was a buzz during Shamir’s interview from the mic, which was rented from ESL.
-Good framing on Shamir
-Shot the ceiling lights which make terrible video
-Good NAT sound throughout
-I had an interview with a protestor outside but the audio didn’t work. It would have been a great SOT too.
-Good video throughout
-No standup because I didn’t know what angle I wanted to take while I was there.
