Wanda Thomas currently serves Kent State in two separate capacities, and she will take on yet another role Nov. 1.

Thomas is dean of the Regional College, the home of all regional campuses, as well as dean of Kent State’s Trumbull campus, a press release from Provost Robert Frank said.

Her newest role will be associate provost for Kent State University system integration. She will direct development of new degrees at Regional Campuses and avenues for obtaining bachelor’s degrees and increase the regional campus system’s growth through retention and recruitment, Frank said.

According to the press release, before coming to Kent in 2005, Thomas worked for Broward College in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., for 24 years, where she held the positions of vice president of technical education, vice president for community and resource development and provost.

Thomas graduated from Kent State with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education, Frank said. At the University of Arkansas, she received her doctoral degree in higher education administration.

As associate provost, Thomas will expand and cultivate the regional campus system.
