Best unknown club on campus

Kent State’s Anime Society is about more than just cartoons.

Besides introducing members to the newest anime films, the club offers a social atmosphere to play games, have sushi nights, travel to local anime conventions such as Colossal and meet Anime greats like Joshua Seth Freedman and Greg Ayres, anime voice actors.

“You’ve got just a handful of groups that don’t fall into this mold of one of these big bubbles,” says vice president Nick Trojack. “We’re one that falls outside of that, it’s about broadening that horizon.”

Going on its 15th year, the group is open to anyone and meets Fridays from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in Room 228 of the Math and Science Building.

Best vegan/vegetarian grub on campus

In a world smothered in cheese, where beef is “what’s for dinner,” it can be difficult to be a vegan on a college campus.

Seeing a rise in vegans and vegetarians, Eastway Cafe’s “Veggie A-Go-Go” menu strives to accommodate students who steer clear of the steer.

The vegan menu consists of stuffed green peppers, a vegan macaroni dinner,

Napoleon stackers, ratatouille, vegetable risotto and paella, roasted zucchini, and a

spinach, cranberry and sunflower salad, just to name a few.

Each selection can be purchased for under $10, and you can add tofu or

gardein soy “chicken” for an additional fee.
