Arrest made in centennial assault
September 15, 2010
Kent State police apprehended the suspect of a Sept. 10 assault on a student.
The assault took place Friday morning in the courtyard outside Centennial A and B at 2:50 a.m. Friday, said Lt. Chris Jenkins.
Jacob Niebes, 22, also a Kent State student, was arrested later the same day, after police contacted witnesses who identified him. Jenkins said alcohol was a factor in the assault. Niebes is facing a first-degree misdemeanor assault charge.
Jenkins also confirmed that no arrests have been made in the beating of a student outside Tri-Towers on Sept. 7, and the investigation is still ongoing.
