Library and Information Science aids damaged high school
September 9, 2010
Kent State’s School of Library and Information Science donated 200 books to Lake High School in Toledo after it was damaged by a tornado.
Flo Cunningham, the SLIS’s marketing communications and public relations director, said the school is not at all usable due to the severe damage.
Cheryl Tennant, an employee at SLIS, graduated from Lake Local Schools and suggested that SLIS should help.
The donated books focused on adolescents and young adults, Cunningham said. They are available for students at Lake Middle School until the new high school library is built.
