Two Kent State students were robbed at gunpoint early Saturday morning near Lake Street and Harvey Avenue.

A black male about 5 feet 3 inches tall, demanded money and cell phones, according to the Kent City Police Department.

The man, wearing a white hoodie and jeans, was armed with a handgun. He fled on foot after the victims handed over their items.

The students, one man and one woman in their early twenties, were uninjured and reported the robbery Saturday afternoon. No arrests had been made at that time, according to Kent police. Police will not release the victim’s name’s until their family is notified or after 24 hours have passed.
