State, county issues on primary ballots today

Statewide issues:
No. 1 Proposed Constitutional Amendment: Would pass a $700 million renewal of the Ohio Third Frontier program. The program, created in 2002 by then Gov. Bob Taft to promote investment in high-tech businesses and products based in Ohio, is slated to expire in 2012. A yes vote on this issue would extend the program to 2015 by providing an additional $700 million in funds.
No. 2 Proposed Constitutional Amendment: Would change the location of the Columbus casino facility. Issue 3, passed by Ohio voters in November 2009, mandated casinos for Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus and Toledo. Issue 2 proposes the location of the Columbus casino be changed from the Arena District of the city to Columbus’ West Side.
Countywide issues:
No. 12: Would pass a renewal levy for Portage County Children’s Services at .49 mill for five years (2010-2014).
No. 13: Would pass an additional .4 mill for Portage County Health District for five years (2010-2014).
