Daily Kent Stater’s Hump Day cheers and jeers
September 15, 2009
Cheers to
• AlphaMicron for offering at least a little hope for an economic recovery in the Rust Belt.
• Parking Services for installing new parking meters that accept cash and credit cards.
• The Kent State football players who will be stepping in to replace injured senior running back Eugene Jarvis. Forget the pressure and focus on the opportunity.
Jeers to
• Kanye West for rudely interrupting Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night. Cheap publicity or not, that’s just disrespectful.
• Rep. Joe Wilson, another rude interrupter, who shouted “you lie” at President Barack Obama during his health care speech last week.
• Students who cheat on tests and plagiarize papers, forcing administrators to constantly discuss ways to deal with acts of dishonesty.
