Habitat’s ReStore grand opening tomorrow at noon
September 13, 2007
Habitat for Humanity of Portage County will hold a grand opening and ribbon-cutting for its new ReStore at noon tomorrow.
The store, located at 3391 state Route 59, Ravenna, will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow. It officially opened Thursday and offered its first shoppers various pieces of furniture and used appliances, said Melanie Schumacher, office manager for Habitat for Humanity of Portage County.
“Basically what we carry in there is anything that would go into building a house, from wood to shingles to toilets,” she said.
The organization decided to open ReStore because the amount of donations became too great to house at the Habitat for Humanity warehouse at 6630 Cleveland Rd., Ravenna.
Schumacher said the store’s profits will be used for the Habitat for Humanity program to build more houses.
Store hours will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
