Kiss the rings, Cleveland
April 30, 2007
I’m graduating in less than two weeks, and I can’t wait.
I came to Kent State because it has an amazing journalism school, and after receiving my education, I’m ready to leave.
I’ve spent four years listening to people tell me how sweet Cleveland is.
I’m sick of it.
And now, it’s my turn to speak out for all the students here from Pittsburgh who know our city is a hell of a lot better than this place.
1. Pittsburgh has never been the poorest city in the country.
2. Our largest rivers have never caught on fire.
3. We have a kick-ass hockey team.
4. Yuengling
5. Concerts — and by concerts, I mean GOOD, local concerts. We have the Modey Lemon, Centipede E’st, Girl Talk and a million others. Ohio has Trendy.
6. The only time the Browns went to a championship was before the Super Bowl existed.
7. No flat land.
8. Pittsburgh was rated number one in this year’s top ten most livable cities by the Places Rated Almanac.
9. Pennsylvania didn’t vote for Bush.
10. Charlie Batch, Alan Faneca, James Farrior, Larry Foote, Chris Gardocki, Clark Haggans, Santonio Holmes, Heath Miller, Willie Parker, Troy Polamalu, Jeff Reed, Ben Roethlisberger, Ike Taylor, Deshea Townsend and Hines Ward to name a few.
Kiss all five rings Clevelanders, I’m out of here.
