Lefton to meet with students tonight

Still have questions about President Lester Lefton’s decision to not change commencement?

Christen Coppola, Undergraduate Student Senate senator for student relations, said Lefton’s proposed changes to graduation will be top priority at this semester’s second Coffee with the President at 5:30 p.m. today, sponsored by USS. The event is being held in the Music Listening Center on the second floor of the Student Center.

“The only contact students have had with the president is him being put in articles,” Coppola said. “They can use this as an opportunity to question him firsthand and give their input.”

Coppola said tonight’s event will be townhall style, which is more formal than the last event when Lefton walked around and informally met with students.

“It’s going to be a very formal question and answer,” she said. “It’s students’ questions, not a pre-made set of questions. I hope that people show up and express their concerns.”
