The men’s and women’s track and field teams dominated at the Sea Ray Relays at Tennessee over the weekend.

On the final day, three of the men finished in the top ten. Posting high scores for the men included seniors Chris Caine, Brent Shelby and Kyle Bowman, juniors Marc Johnson and Chad Clemons, sophomore Nick Ivancic and freshmen Joe Parker and Dan Klatt.

Caine posted an NCAA regional qualifying score and personal-best 7,127 points in the heptathlon, placing him in the No. 3 spot. Clemons took the No. 9 spot and put up a personal-best 6,368 points.

Johnson had a regional qualifying score in the 100-meter dash with a 10.45, placing ninth. On the 400-meter hurdles, Ivancic placed 11th, but posted a regional qualifying score and personal-best 52.50.

Bowman placed third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:37.52, followed by Parker in sixth place with a time of 9:46.64.

In the 5,000-meter run, senior Seth Hutchinson finished in the No. 4 spot with a final of 15:04.05.

In the field, Shelby posted a regional qualifying toss of 177-1 in the discus, taking the No. 4 spot. In the shot put, he threw for a regional qualifying mark and personal-best 18.27 in the final and second place in the event.

In the hammer throw, senior Andy Nicholas posted a regional qualifying score of 61.26, finishing at 201 and seventh place. Sophomore Jaroslaw Zakrzewski also put up a regional qualifying score of 59.69 putting him in 10th place with a final of 195-10.

The top finishers for the women were seniors Molly Hammer and Jeanna Fascione and sophomore LeVania Henderson.

Hammer placed fifth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:27.79. Fascione took the No. 7 spot in the steeplechase with time of 10:52.09.

In the shot put, Henderson posted a regional qualifying mark and personal-best 50-9.25, placing fourth.

Both teams compete next in the Akron Quad Saturday.
