Habitat for Humanity holds week-long photo exhibit in Music Listening Center
March 21, 2006
Kent State’s Habitat for Humanity will be holding a reception for the opening of its exhibit at the Music Listening Center in the Student Center tonight from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
The display will include photographs of events the group has participated in, such as the Oxfam Hunger Banquet, various work sites and the summer collegiate trip.
Its purpose is to spread awareness about the group, said Deidre Jones, senior fashion merchandising major and co-president of Habitat for Humanity.
“It’s just for people to know what we do,” Jones said. “Even though most people know what we’re about, they can physically see what we do.”
The reception is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about the group, and refreshments will also be provided, Jones said.
After the reception, the group will hold its weekly meeting for those interested in attending.
The exhibit will be on display until April 7. The center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, but closed throughout Spring Break.
