The Kent State men’s basketball team, the Mid-American Conference Tournament and regular-season champion, made its fourth appearance in the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship as the No. 12 seed in the Oakland Regional Bracket. The Flashes’ season came to a close after losing 79-64 in the first round against nationally ranked Pittsburgh, the No. 5 seed and the Big East Tournament runner-up at The Palace of Auburn Hills in Auburn Hills, Mich. on Friday evening. The Daily Kent Stater was able to send a photographer, the sports editor and men’s basketball reporter to cover the NCAA Tournament for Kent State over the weekend.
