Flashes baseball team competes in Nashville today

After a three-day stint at Alabama, the Kent State baseball team travels to Nashville this weekend.

The Flashes opened their 2006 campaign with three losses at Alabama but are looking to improve their record as they take on Lipscomb, Vanderbilt and Belmont this weekend.

Lipscomb (1-2) is first on deck for Kent State. First pitch is at 5 p.m. today. The Flashes have only faced the Bisons once on Feb. 28, 2003.

The matchup with Vanderbilt (2-2) is scheduled for 3 p.m. Vanderbilt currently holds the all-time series record at 4-3.

The Flashes play Belmont (2-1) at 1:05 p.m. Sunday, and it will be the first meeting between the two teams.

This weekend will be the Flashes’ second of five-straight weekends in the south. The Flashes will begin their Mid-American Conference schedule at Western Michigan on March 24.
