Lindsay Shearer, Kent State women’s basketball senior forward, was named to ESPN The Magazine’s Academic All-District IV First Team yesterday.

This is the third year in a row Shearer has been selected for the team, which is chosen by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Shearer was named to the Academic All-America Second Team last season.

Shearer leads the Flashes (14-7, 7-3 Mid-American Conference) and the Mid-American Conference in scoring. Her average of 19.8 points per game puts her in the No. 15 rank nationally. She also leads the squad in rebounding, field goal percentage, 3-point percentage, made 3-pointers and free throws.

Shearer, a business major, has earned MAC East Division Player of the Week honors three times this season.
