Flashes picked for 2nd place finish in MAC
February 3, 2006
The Kent State baseball team was picked Wednesday to finish in the No. 2 spot in the Mid-American Conference East Division in the MAC’s annual preseason coaches poll.
The Flashes were second to defending MAC Champions Miami. The RedHawks were also picked to win the MAC tournament. The Flashes ended the 2005 season in a 10-1 loss to the RedHawks with a 33-20 overall record and a 9-10 MAC record.
“I think our conference will be very competitive this year,” said Kent State coach Scott Stricklin in a press release. “It should be a lot of fun to see how it plays out. Miami deserves to be picked first due to the return of their entire pitching staff. But I feel we have a very good group of seniors who will help us compete for another MAC Championship.”
