Kent State women’s lacrosse was unable to earn its first victory of 2020 against the Robert Morris Colonials on Saturday afternoon, losing 18-7 at Joe Walton Stadium.

The loss drops the Flashes to 0-2 for their sophomore season, while the Colonials brought themselves to an even 1-1 record.

Abby Jones contributed three more goals to her resume, with an assist on a first period goal by sophomore attacker Megan Kozar.

Sophomore midfielders Eva Nikolai and Meghan Cawood also scored their first goals of the season, and sophomore attacker Graceyn Dean fired a goal with under two minutes to go in the game.

Goalie Grace Merrill tightened up the defense in the second half, as she totaled 16 saves on the day.

Next week, coach Brianne Tierney will lead her team up to Olean, NY, for a 4 p.m. battle with St. Bonaventure University on Feb. 21.

The 1-0 Bonnies beat Kent State 18-10 in the 2019 season, so the Flashes should have revenge on their minds.
