Kent State students have a chance to go on an exotic spring break surfing trip to the town of Rican, Puerto Rico, through the Beverly J. Warren Student Recreation and Wellness Center.

“It’s beach themed. It is more of a relaxed trip, which is what everyone wants out of spring break,” said Chris Lukas, assistant director of outdoor adventure.

Lukas said the trip includes surf lessons, kayaking, snorkeling, a boat tour, hiking and time for relaxing on the beach.

The trip also allows students to explore the town, try different restaurants and get a taste for Puerto Rican culture, Lukas added.

The trip is during spring break from March 21 to 25.

Registration is not yet filled. Lukas said the trip is $1,300 total if students are interested in attending. The Rec Center only asks for a $300 down payment and has two due dates set up for the rest of the payment.

“We wanted to try something more extoic this year,” Lukas said, “It is going to be a good time.”
