Crash report provides more details after student suffers minor injuries from hit Sept. 4

A 19-year-old Kent State student obtained suspected minor injuries after a car struck her in the crosswalk between Cleveland Bagel Café and Papa Johns on East Main Street Sept. 4. The pedestrian, from Riverside, Ill., was transported to Summa Health Hospital in Akron, according to the crash report from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

A 19-year-old Kent State student from Coshocton, Ohio, hit the victim at 9:30 p.m. The incident was reported at 9:36 pm., and Kent Police arrived at the scene at 10:01 p.m. The scene was cleared by 11:37 p.m.

The crash report listed four witnesses.

According to the crash report, no alcohol or drug use was suspected from either party, and distracted driving was not a factor in the crash.
