Art Garfunkel to perform at Kent Tuscarawas

Grammy Award winning singer and actor Art Garfunkel will be holding an intimate performance at Kent State’s Tuscarawas campus tomorrow in the Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m.

Art Garfunkel is known for his music, acting and writing. He released 12 solo albums and five studio albums while in Simon and Garfunkel with Paul Simon. 

Simon and Garfunkel was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.

Garfunkel also worked in the film industry since 1970, starring in movies such as Catch-22 and Carnal Knowledge. 

Garfunkel’s role in Carnal Knowledge secured him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actor in 1972. He has performed on Broadway in Mike Nichols and Elaine May: Together Again on Broadway and won six Grammys with Simon and Garfunkel. Garfunkel published an autobiography in 2017 called “What Is It All But Luminous.”

“We’re always looking to bring high quality performances to our area,” said General Manager of the Performing Arts Center David Mitchell.

“[Art Garfunkel] is the voice of a generation. To be in the room with a living legend is pretty special.”
