Football drops ninth game of season in disappointing fashion

Kent State football allowed 28 first half points and could not recover, losing against Bowling Green 49-19.

BGSU won its fourth straight game, improving to 6-4, while the Flashes fell to 1-9 on the season with their seventh consecutive loss.

Sophomore quarterback Tommy Ulatowski finished his second start of the season, passing for 284 yards on 23-39, adding a touchdown and an interception.

Redshirt junior tight end Hayden Junker caught his first touchdown of the season, and redshirt senior running back Jaylen Thomas added another in the fourth quarter.

BGSU ran over Kent State, totaling 190 rushing yards on 39 attempts, while KSU used its 32 rushing attempts to accrue 74 yards.

KSU averaged nearly three fewer yards per play than BGSU – the team averaged 4.97 yards, while the Falcons averaged 7.68.

Junior running back Ta’Ron Keith had a career day tallying eight receptions for 130 yards, one receiving touchdown, nine rushing attempts, 103 rushing yards, and one rushing touchdown.

Kent State will return to weekend football Saturday, Nov. 18, when it plays Ball State in Muncie, Indiana, at 2 p.m.
