An array of colorful flowers were present at FAB’s bouquet making event Tuesday night. Students who attended were able to make a bouquet, decorate a vase and enter in a raffle to win Lego flowers.

The event was put together by Madalynn Wagner, a senior managerial marketing major and director of FAB Tuesdays. Wagner said she got the idea for the event from her love of fresh bouquets and thought it was something fun that students do not get to do often.

“It is so fun being able to plan whatever I want,” Wagner said. “I look at things I want to do, but I also look at what other campuses are doing and plan events with a fun, creative twist.”

FAB teamed up with a local flower shop to provide supplies for about 100 participants.

Ava Hirsch, a freshman exercise science major, decorated her vase with daisy flowers as she expressed excitement over the event.

“I love being able to make something that will go in my dorm,” Hirsch said. “Especially during the winter season when it’s dark and rainy outside, it is nice to have colorful spring flowers in my room.”

Alexis Simons, a freshman speech pathology major, started to line up an hour and a half early to ensure she was able to make a bouquet.

“My building offered bouquet making last week and I had a lot of fun, so we decided to come tonight,” Simons said. “We normally have nothing else to do, so we thought it would be fun.”

Lily Henning, a freshman fashion design major, Savannah Slencak, a freshman fashion merchandising major, and Hannah Colao, a freshman early childhood education major, all came to the event together because they enjoy going to the creative FAB events.

“The aesthetic of bouquet making draws people out,” Slencak said. “It’s a cute decoration and fun to make.”

Colao also said she likes coming to the events because it is a great way to meet new people around campus.

“As a freshman, seeing if I’ll meet anyone is always a thought in the back of my head,” Colao said. “I like when they do creative things because it is something I like to do, but would not personally do on my own.”

Wagner agreed that attending FAB events is a fun on-campus activity.

“It’s something fun to do on campus,” Wagner said. “I think the events are so unique. You do not see them often so it’s always a great way to do something new.”
