After reading this article and its companion article, be sure to vote in the poll below so we can settle this debate once and for all.

Today, we’re answering the age-old debate: Cane’s or Chick-fil-A?

Our answer is as simple (and tasty) as Texas toast: Cane’s all the way.

First, let’s tackle its convenience: Cane’s is open on Sundays and until 2 a.m. It is an all-time convenience.

So you’re feeling hungry at 11 a.m. on a Sunday after a long night out the day before? Cane’s is there for you.

So you want to celebrate a birthday or an aced test or go on a date? Cane’s is the place to be.

So you had an awful day of classes on a Wednesday and you and your friends need a pick-me-up? Stop by Cane’s!

Not to mention, there is a Cane’s on 1801 E. Main St. by campus. The nearest Chick-fil-A is many minutes away in Cuyahoga Falls.

Second, Cane’s chicken is just better, OK.

The chicken fingers, which are the only item the fast-food stop sells (even on its sandwiches), are always steaming hot, and the fried outside of the chicken is crunchy and extremely tasty.

The chicken is more on the plain side when it comes to seasoning, which makes it pair perfectly with Cane’s Sauce (we’ll get more into that later).

Next, let’s analyze these sides. Yes, Chick-fil-A has more side options: mac and cheese, fruit and ice cream, for example. But Cane’s simple sides are the exact perfect pair for its chicken.

A fan favorite order at Cane’s, the Box Combo, comes with the perfect arrangement of food.

Four chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast, Cane’s sauce and coleslaw. The fries are obviously great, and the toast is fantastic, but something about the coleslaw really balances the meal out, making it the perfect combo.

Now, onto our main reason for Cane’s superiority: the Cane’s sauce.

The sauce is one of the main reasons people love cane’s. When you get a combo, fries, chicken and toast, you can dip each piece in the Cane’s sauce, elevating the taste instantly.

The sauce is so loved by Cane’s fanatics that it’s become a popular trend on TikTok to get a fountain drink sized cup full of the sauce. In one video, a Cane’s employee said they’ve started prepping the 22 ounce cups full of sauce since it’s in such high demand.

This tangy sauce with a little bit of a kick adds so much to the crunchy crinkle fries, delectable Texas toast and somewhat-plain-tasting chicken fingers. While the chicken fingers would be amazing in something as simple as ketchup, that special sauce just takes them to the next level.

Finally, something that cannot be overlooked is the moral compass of Chick-fil-A.

For example, the founder of Chick-fil-A was quoted stating that they would not allow same-sex couples to participate in the company’s marriage retreats.

Similarly, one of the largest donations they have made was $8 million to the WinShape Foundation, a foundation that has provided grants to organizations that support conversion therapy.

Chick-fil-A has been very generous with their money to anti-gay organizations and have even gone as far as to co-sponsored a marriage conference with the Pennsylvania Family Institute, who had previously filed an amicus brief against striking down Proposition 8 in California, which banned same-sex marriage in the state.

While we do understand Chick-fil-A has a larger menu and far more options – even healthier options like a salad – Cane’s expertise in just chicken, toast, fries and that tasty sauce makes their meals that much better.

It also makes ordering far easier because you don’t have to shift through the dozens of combinations of what are essentially the same foods.

Cane’s is just better. Period.

Do you like Cane’s or Chick-fil-A better?

Don’t like that Cane’s forces you to include a drink with your chicken fingers and fries. I don’t want a drink other than water….
