Scientists describe new Tyrannosaurus species

A new species of Tyrannosaurus was described by scientists, dubbed Tyrannosaurus mcraeensis.

For decades, researchers have been debating whether the Tyrannosaurus family originated in Asia or western North America. The age and location of the new species may suggest that the family originated in western North America. Some critics of the paper say there is not enough evidence to definitively call the specimen a new species and that it may just be a juvenile Tyrannosaurus rex.
