Muslim Students’ Association to hold Christchurch vigil Monday

Kent State’s Muslim Students’ Association will hold a vigil Monday at 6 p.m. on the K to remember the people who died in Christchurch, New Zealand, after attacks on two mosques Friday.

“Please join us in paying respects, and confirm that those sentiments that give way to senseless violence have no place in our own community,” the organization said in an email sent out Saturday afternoon.

At least 50 people died and dozens more were wounded in the attacks. Some charities are seeking donations to help the victims’ families move on from the tragedies that shook Muslim communities all over the world.

The New York Times compiled a list of groups offering aid. See the list here.
