Women all over the world embraced their femininity on Friday, March 8 for International Women’s Day.

The holiday is meant to acknowledge the achievements women have made throughout history and the ones they are continuing to make today.

The theme for this year’s International Women’s Day is #BalanceforBetter which aims to focus on the importance of balancing gender roles in today’s society and embracing women in positions of power.

The Women’s Center at Kent State University is only one of the organizations celebrating International Women’s Day on campus.

The center aims to help female students by supporting their academic and lifestyle needs while allowing them to embrace who they are.

Along with the Women’s Center, the International Student Council also handed out free flowers to females Friday as a sign of appreciation.

The act allowed females on campus to remember just how important they really are and it helped draw awareness to National Women’s History Month.
