Nominations are now being accepted at the Kent State Stark campus for the 2018 Distinguished Teaching Award and the Award of Distinction through March 2.

Stark students, alumni, faculty and staff are allowed to submit nominations for full-time and adjunct faculty at the regional campus that have gone above and beyond in the classroom.

Award recipients will be announced in early May. A committee comprised of faculty and students are in charge of selecting the winners.

“It is a very tough decision (selecting the award winners) because the thing is, is that you get this pool of faculty that are nominated and they are all excellent,” Selection Committee Chair Matthew Lehnert said. “They are all qualified to get that kind of award and they are all passionate about their subject.”

Submitting a faculty members name is not enough for them to win the award. The only submissions that will be forwarded to the committee must include at least 50 words of supportive information to backup why the professor should be selected.
