Kent State’s volleyball team (5-21 overall, 3-12 Mid-American Conference) lost in straight sets (25-23, 25-23, 25-20) to Ohio University (15-14, 9-6 MAC) Thursday night.

The Golden Flashes have now lost 25 sets this season by 3 points or less.

“Tonight was pretty similar to the last few matches with not being able to win the crucial points late in sets,” coach Don Gromala said. “It was a really balanced match overall.”

Senior outside hitter Kelsey Bittinger led the team with 12 kills and senior setter Brittany Jakscht had 40 assists and 7 digs, filling in for Natalie Tagala, the usual setter.

The Flashes will host Eastern Michigan Saturday night at 5 p.m. in the M.A.C Center for the last game of the regular conference season.
