Kent State University Libraries will host its fourth-annual fundraising event for the Legacy Scholarship.

The event will be in the Library Garden Room on the first floor of the library at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 3.

Author and photographer, Paul Gaston, will speak about the craft brewing industry and share his experience at numerous breweries. Those in attendance will be able to sample hand-picked samples of Ohio brewed beer.

“This year, we were able to provide four deserving students with $1,000 each to offset the cost of tuition and add to our endowment,” said Cynthia Williams, the director of marketing, communications and public relations. “Each person who attends this event can be proud that they are contributing to student success and our future leaders.”

The event serves as a celebration for the four recipients of the University Libraries Legacy student scholarships and a fundraiser for future recipients.

“The University Libraries Legacy Scholarship event to benefit Kent State students is just one way that we support President Warren’s students first priority,” Williams said. “Each year, we strive to further build our scholarship fund so that we may add more scholarships to provide students with the financial resources to better afford the excellent college experience offered by Kent State.”
