Music, art, food and wine will fill Downtown Kent Sat., June 3 as Main Street Kent’s 11th annual Art and Wine Festival is set to take place from noon–10 p.m.

Heather Malarcik, Main Street Kent executive director, said she expects at least a few thousand people to attend the festival.

“Last year, we had 2,000 commemorative wine glasses and we sold out, so that’s a good gauge for us,” Malarick said.

Entry to the event is free, but attendees may purchase a $20 ticket for a commemorative wine glass and ten taste tickets. Each taste ticket allots for a 1 oz. wine sample of your choice from any of the nine Ohio-based wineries in attendance.

In addition to wine, food vendors and artists will be scattered throughout downtown while musicians play on the Hometown Bank Plaza stage.

Malarcik said the event is a community staple.

“It’s ten hours long, so we typically see a lot of people early on who leave and come back again,” she said. “It brings in members of the local and surrounding community.”
