The Kent State women’s golf team came in second place at The Dickson tournament in Texas, while the Kent State men’s golf team came in first at Louisiana Classics, a tournament hosted by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

It was the first tournament of the season for the men’s golf team.

Kent State is now ranked No. 15 in the NCAA. The Flashes beat three top 20 teams, including No. 4 University of Illinois, No. 13 University of Texas A&M and No. 14 Louisiana State University.

Kent State finished 21 strokes under par, ahead of second place Texas A&M’s two strokes under par.

The Flashes were led in strokes by Ian Holt, who placed second individually. The rest of the team placed in the top 20.

The women’s team – who is ranked No. 10 in the NCAA – was beaten by No. 3 Florida State University, who won the tournament by 18 strokes. The final score for the Flashes was three strokes over par.

The Flashes were led in strokes by Pimnipa Panthong, who tied for fifth place among individual players. Wad Phaewchimplee – MAC Women’s Golfer of the Week – tied for seventh.
