One hundred kits were provided to the department by Project ChildSafe, a non-profit organization developed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation. Locks and safety kits have been given out all over the nation and as a result, they’ve seen a 31% decline in fatal firearm accidents between the years 2003-2013.
