Kent State’s Student Center closed Thursday after a water main break in Manchester Field.

The university announced via email all Thursday evening events and meetings in the Student Center, which currently does not have running water, after 5 p.m. were canceled.

Timeka Rashid, associate dean of students in the Center for Student Involvement, made the decision to close the building to the public until the break can be fixed.

“We made the decision because of the safety concerns to shut operations down,” Rashid said.

“There is no running water in terms of toilets not flushing, and we do not know when this will be back up,” Rashid said.
