The Portage County Board of Elections posted election results this morning due to a delay Tuesday night after a server malfunction.

Terrie Nielsen, deputy director of the Board of Elections, said there was an issue with the voting tabulation machines around 7:15 p.m., and its vendors were present to try to resolve the issue all night.

However, she said they still don’t know what went wrong.

She said eight employees and four board members counted the results by hand, and the results were posted on the Board of Elections’ website around 7 a.m. this morning.

“It was a long night, but we were able to get everything done,” Nielsen said.
